I'm enjoying working on the night garden theme - and I love this blue/mauve velvet which has a bronze thread in it and seems to glimmer as if in the moonlight.
I used Infusions for the background and sprinkled them liberally on clear texture paste through a stencil for the darker shapes - does anyone else find the powder gets everywhere, or am I just a messy worker!
I'm linking up with Julia over at WOYWW this week.

I think I ALMOST bought that stencil just yesterday - wish I had now. FAB project

You always do such pretty stuff Diana - lovely x Jackie 17
ReplyDeleteIf Infusions are anything like Brushos then you're not the only one. Those powders can travel for miles. Definitely not something I use during hayfever season! Beautiful work as always. That velvet is gorgeous. I'm often sceptical about crafting gadgets, but the roller brush works very well and I now wish I'd bought one sooner.

That bluey purply bronzy velvety mossy (I've run out of words ending in-y now!) fabric is just gorgeous. I love the little silvery (ha! another one!) beads on wires too. Sigh....
ReplyDeleteWe're very chilled about the packing actually, just doing bits and pieces. It'll get madder when we exchange contracts, I suspect :-)

That stamp is really gorgeous - I love the effect you've achieved with it and as always, your colour combinations are fab - this reminds me a bit of those cyanotype works you did last year. Thanks for sharing! Happy crafting, Max #22
ReplyDeleteGorgeous colours. the pearls look perfect. Soojay 27 x

Just so beautiful. I had to go look up infusions as I'd not seen them before. The down side of visiting desks if you're watching your pennies. But the up side is being introduced to new products. Blessings for a great WOYWW and terrific week! LisaDV #28
ReplyDeleteHi Diana, loving those tags, so atmospheric. You are not alone with making a mess.I haven't used Infusions, only Brusho's, but they too make a mess. Have a great week, Hugs, Shaz #4 xxx
ReplyDeleteI love the look of Infusions and you have a lovely creation there. i can feel a 'spend time' coming up!
ReplyDeleteI have Brushos and I punctured the lid with a hat pin which left me with a tiny hole. I have to really 'bang the bottom' sometimes to get any quantity of powder onto the paper, so I don't use them very often. Maybe I need to enlarge the holes slightly.
Have a good week

Hi Diana, I am so loving these tags they are lush! I normally use Brushos as they are what I used when I was teaching and yes they can be messy bur you've seen nothing until you see what a class full of teenagers can do with them! Have a great woyww, Angela x 15
ReplyDeleteGorgeous layered textures, and I love the touches of shimmer. The wormy roots look amazing, so alive!

no, it's not just you... I love your tags, they are beautiful. Helen #1
ReplyDeleteSTUNNING! Great to see what you've been up to..apologies for the late arrival. Elaine no. 40! Love them..
ReplyDeleteI have the same problem with brushos. I went to check out what Infusions were and found a video on Paper Artsy of someone with the great idea of punching a small whole in the lids of both the Infusions and the Brushos so you can sprinkle them and you use a bit of tape to seal the holes between use. Why didn't I think of that?
ReplyDeleteWOW, Diana! This is one exquisite tag! I utterly love every last detail, a beauty to behold! And yes, do punch a tiny hole in your lids and cover them with tape for storage. Much less messy! ;0
ReplyDeleteSwoon, love love love your tags. You have such a wonderful way with all the textures and elements. Thanks for visiting me BJ#18
ReplyDeleteAnother amazing addition to this wonderful series!! I love the combination of paper, fabric and trim, such wonderful texture and shimmer, perfect!!
ReplyDeleteI am just having a very late WOYWW catch-up. Oh so lovely night gardens - the colours are perfect.
ReplyDeleteOH my gosh, that velvet couldn't be more perfect for your night garden pieces, and the beads are just so perfect with it. So great with those layered stencils too. And YES, any kind of embossing type powder makes me CRAZY! Impossible to control, gets everywhere. You are not alone....
ReplyDeleteFabulous - again! - Diana! You keep pulling them out of the hat. This is so stunning. Love the dark colours and that gorgeous velvet. Amazing.
ReplyDeleteHappy very belated WOYWW,
