Not much arty crafty stuff achieved this week, but a busy and happy week looking after my nephews now the school holidays are here, and also visiting Jan (our very own Lunch Lady!) for some crafty fun and lots of chat.
It was a fab day, made even better by seeing Julia too - so much chat and just a little bit of embroidery done on these half finished 'night garden' collages.
Thank you Jan!
I'm linking up with Julia over at WOYWW.
Hi Diana, saw these first over on Jan's page absolutely divine. You might have guessed I'm struggling again, will be going back to GP if it doesn't let up after 10 days this time, certainly not waiting for day 21! BJ#9

ReplyDeleteIt was lovely to see you, even though it was a bit whizz whizz! Love that you took stuff to do, these are looking amazing. And I'm going over to Jan's to point out that you use pins!!
ReplyDeleteHa! I do use pins...occasionally....when there's a waxing moon....and I'm in a bad mood :-) :-). It was so lovely to see you, I really enjoyed out natter and tiny bit of crafting. The Crop is exactly the same, lol!
ReplyDeleteHugs, LLJ 8 xxx
Jan shared your beautiful work too, and I am not surprised that you spent more time chatting than crafting - one those two get together lol!! Hope this means you may come to crop later in the year.. we all take loads of stuff and hardly touch it! Helen #4

ReplyDeleteSounds like you're having a good week. April #24
ReplyDeleteWhat gorgeous pieces, Diana, and lovely to see a work in progress. It sounds as if you had a great time with the girls!
ReplyDeleteThank you for your lovely comment, and I'm glad you enjoyed reading about my mother of pearl experiments. I've applied the technique to my mystery project and it's looking great. After yesterday I'm feeling pretty stiff and sore, and it's an effort being conscious all the time of how I move my arms and do things - I feel a bit like a robot at the moment! It's going to take time for this to become natural, but it's worth the effort if it gives me healthier shoulders and reduces the risk of permanent damage. Our arms aren't designed for walking with, and after 9 years of crutch staggering and wheelchair zooming, it's coming home to roost now I'm 63!!
Happy belated WOYWW,

Absolutely wonderful additions to the night garden series!Stunning layers and exquisite embroyderie!! Sounds as if you, Jan and Julia had a fab time, nothing better than meeting up with likeminded friends!!
ReplyDeleteSpotted these on Jan's blog and now I see they are even more beautiful on your desk. How lovely that you all got to catch up and meet IRL.

We are all going in posting order through the desk I guess, and Jan posted earlier than most of us. These are SO AMAZING! I love the layers. It makes me want to really learn embroidery. That's the trouble with these desk hops. I find my want to try list growing and growing, but my time keeps shrinking and shrinking. Have a terrific week. LisaDV #23
