A Nature Themed ATC Swap

I have recently been involved in a lovely ATC swap with Elaine over at
Craft Shed Girl - I was so pleased when she let me know she was up for a swap, as we have similar tastes and a love of nature in our artwork!

This is the ATC and matching box I sent to Elaine, it's based on my current work around the moonlit garden ...

... and this is the beautiful ATC holder and gift tag Elaine sent me...

Elaine very cleverly designed and made the holder herself - it's absolutely ingenious and such an effective and beautiful way to present the ATC.  I felt I was opening a birthday present when it arrived!
As you can see once you undo the ribbon holding it closed, it opens up to display the ATC which is held in the card groove - and what a stunning ATC it is. Elaine thoughtfully and carefully worked with images, colours and subject matter that she knows I like and if I had sent her a list of my requirements she couldn't have got it more right!!!

This has been such an enjoyable swap - thank you Elaine!
I must add that for anyone interested Elaine has listed her supplies and techniques over on her blog

I'm linking up Julia over at WOYWW this week.

  13. beautiful ATC's, lovely holder. In most of my swaps the card has to fit into a plastic sleeve, so not so much dimension allowed.

  17. I can see why you two would want to do a swap, you both have similar, wonderful artistic sensibilities. Yours are stunning, with the lovely detail of little stones and beads and that gorgeous velvet, and what a perfect box. And the ones you received, just beautiful, and that holder is just so wonderfully unique.

  18. The ATCs are both gorgeous! I'm wondering what that blueish fabric is that you have used on yours? Maybe velvet? It's very effective!

  21. Beautiful swapping in both directions. The wildflowers put in a stunning appearance in both Elaine's work and yours. I love the subtle smoky colour tones of your moonlit garden, glorious textures and details on the ATC as always, and the box is simply gorgeous.

  22. I'm gasping at the beauty of both ATCs and their holders, Diana - quite exquisite work from both of you! You definitely are art sisters, you two! I love the velvet and all those gorgeous beads and things on yours, and her ATC holder is a simply stunning idea. I'm not surprised you felt as if it was your birthday, opening that. What a lovely blog post.

I didn't join in WOYWW this week as there was nothing on my desk to show, but I've been doing a bit, and managed to finish my friend's 60th birthday card, and I'm giving it to her tomorrow with the present, so after that I should be able to upload the blog posts about them - they've been under wraps for ages!

  25. thank you for your return visit, diana - you know it's always a p;easure for me to visit your blog whether or not i'm on woyww. please excuse no capitals but i'm single-handed typing - sliced my finger this evening and my arm's in a sling till bed time to stop the bleeding. been to a and e and it's all bandaged up.

i've posted the first of the recently under wraps stuff today if you want to hop back. not sure when i'll be fit to do more art but i have 2 or 3 more posts ready to upload over the next few days.

  27. Thanks for another visit, Diana - so glad you like my mask-and-spray project! I love the sound of your fish mask project - this would be a great springboard for Zentangle. Must try this! Thank you for your concern re my finger - I took the sling off before bed on Saturday and there's been no bleeding through the bandage. I've got to go back this p.m. for them to have a look at it and change the dressing. It's inconvenient rather than anything else, but it's pretty tender if I inadvertently press on it! It's going to take a while to heal as it was pretty deep. I'm starting my new Bible study group on Friday evening and was hoping to lead some worship at the beginning but this will now have to be unaccompanied because I can't play my guitar!! These things are sent to try us, aren't they.

I'm about to upload the next "under wraps" blog post if you want to hop back later.

    Have a great week.
