Autumn Birthday Cards

We have lots of birthdays in October so the Christmas card making has stopped and here are a couple of Autumn cards I've made.

This card has an embossed panel on the front that I made using a nestie die with rubber embossing mats to replace one of the clear cutting pads (this will probably only make sense if you use a Bigshot!) - I think it's quite effective although the photo doesn't show it very well.

I'm linking up with Julia over at What's On Your Work Desk Wednesday this week

  1. Gorgeous! I like the cutout leaves that are just edges, they're a good foil to the complete ones on top. And the splatters (technical term!) are great too, they really add to the piece. Are they completely random or placed just so?!

  2. Those are beautiful cards. Love the die cuts; which set is it? The narrow outlines are fabulous. I'd forgotten that you can emboss dies rather than just cutting with them. Thanks for the reminder. Happy WOYWW Sarah #19

  4. Very unique - I don't think I've seen anything similar before! Those outline diecuts must be very delicate. Love the splashes - they remind me of October rain! Happy WOYWW, Diana! Hope you have a good week! zsuzsa #18

  5. Oh love those dies and yes can see the embossing too. Love what you have done with them, so crisp just like the season.
The hot flashes are pretty surreal. I wake in the night and a few seconds later this wave of heat engulfs me. I get pretty hot whilst doing anything energetic too, yep the hair line is the main contender for the damp prize! I just have a vest t-shirt on today and doing the vacuuming really got me soaked! But oh so better than periods. At least you can tell people you are a "hot woman" due to hormones, they tend to understand but flooding periods - don't go there! Hugs and Thanks for the visit BJ#5

  6. They are gorgeous Diana, I`m totally in love with the wine red one, and I think I have to investigate on those dies ....I have never seen it before, but it creates a beautiful frame around the leaf, which make it all more alive.
Thank you so much for your kind visits on my blog, I appreciate it very much-
    Hugs, Dorthe

  12. These are delightful - I love the splatter adding life and movement behind, and the layering of the leaves and the outlines is so effective. Great basic design, and as you've already shown, it works so well in various compositions. Lovely!
