Summer of Colour Week 5 and WOYWW #124

On my work desk this week I have a selection of silk paper I've been making, and a small card I made for the Summer of Colour challenge - the colours this week being candy apple red and yellow.  I'm afraid my offering this week is very meagre - too much time spent in the garden in this glorious weather!

To see what's on other people's desks why not pop over to Julia at WOYWW.

  6. Such a lovely place to live, near the New Forest, so you are sure to have so many birds and butterflies and flowers to delight you. I just wish I could visit there again, we always loved a holiday near there. I don't know how one makes silk paper, but your delicate yellow and red butterfly are delightful. A true case of 'less is more'.

  17. You might call your SOC entry meager, but I call it creative. I'm super impressed. I'm here from WOYWW (#2) as well as SOC. Glad you are having fun in your garden. I live in the states, and it's too hot to be outside!

  18. Leave it to you to be making silk paper! I don't know quite what that is, but it's so beautiful. I love the look of handmade paper, and this just takes it up many notches. And your lovely butterfly in combination with it on the card is just absolutely simple and lovely.

  19. Oh Diana, your beautiful papers look like delicate pink clouds and I could just lay my head on them and drift away!!! They are so, so beautiful with gorgeous colours and textures. Just fabulous.

Thanks for your visit and your lovely comment. The shelf unit is already looking better after a couple of coats of white paint but it will need several more coats, I think, before it looks right. It's very sturdy and beautifully made, but such a shame to spoil it with such artificial looking distressing! The builder said I should complete the painting, and then tie it on the back of the car and get my hubby to drag it around a bit - that would distress it OK! Alternatively I could bury it in the garden for a couple of years. I think I'll keep it plain white, though!

Having a bad day health wise today after seriously overdoing things yesterday - painting shelves, being on my feet far too much etc. I couldn't use the wheelchair because there was too much builders' stuff about, and I was up and down those stairs more times than I could count! Nether regions really bad today too, but I had a phone call from the hospital saying the histology results had come back, definitely confirming the ulcerative colitis diagnosis, and that I should get an appointment with the gastroenterologist soon, and get some proper treatment. The hot weather doesn't help much either!

I can't wait to get into my new Art Heaven as someone said I should now call it!! I'm making everybody terribly jealous with it!

    Happy belated WOYWW,

  26. I find that fine and even that don't pop up...the colors are on your work...soften colors don't mean that your work has not value... :) I find your butterfly lively
