WOYWW #213

On my work desk this week has been an embroidery sent to me by the super-talented Lynn over at One I Made Earlier Today - it is on a UK tour and I was delighted to be asked to add some embroidery to it, and then pass it on to continue it's journey.  It's a beautiful and large piece of work done on dyed scrim and I was quite nervous of working on someone else's piece of art - it has just been posted on and I am hoping Lynn will like the little bit I've added.

I am linking up to WOYWW - why not pop over and visit some more desks - it's fun!

  2. I adore the soft subtle tones of that embroidery.. I shouldn't worry, it worked perfectly. It's a colour scheme that I never seem to have much success with, however much I like it. It always seems harder to get a good result, whereas I bash together bright colours and more often than not, it turns out to be a happy accident! Lol

  5. What a beautiful idea for a project, though a responsibility to work on someone else's art. Your contribution is beautiful. Julie Ann #54

  6. What a lovely idea, adding to the embroidery and sending it on. I wonder what it will be like when it is finished? A friend of mine had a gift wrap bow like that once - it was one of those ribbon ones that you make with a bow machine, and it was passed round and round her family and friends for several years, and each recipient (myself included) added more and more frills and ribbons and bling until the thing was monstrously OTT - it was brilliant! I think it eventually fell to bits!

Thank you for your lovely comment, and for the blog hug which I can really feel lol! I've got my first appt. at the hospital tomorrow a.m. when they'll explain the procedure, and hopefully the colonoscopy itself will be early next week so we can get it over and done with, and then all being well, some good news. The other doesn't bear thinking about...

It's really nice to be back on WOYWW even if my "desk" doesn't actually exist at the moment! I'm looking foward to seeing what progress Andy has made with assembling the units and installing them when we go over tomorrow. It's all so exciting! My new bath arrived today...

  10. Oh what lovely work you did on it Diana. I forgot to take any pictures of the bits I added (doh!) It's not as gorgeous as yours, haha, but I'm happy Lynn likes it. It's a relief it landed safely back home huh :0) Mo

  12. What a great idea of Lynn's! And crikey, if it had been my idea or my embroidery, you would have been the first person on my list for sure! And just to make all you needle gals feel good - I don't even know what Scrim is!

  14. Oh wow what a fantastic idea and how exciting to be a part of it. I wonder if we could do something like that but with a canvas for the non stitchers? I am sure your piece will be a great addition to it
