A teacup filled with velvety mossy embroidery.
It's been sitting on my desk since Spring and at last I've finished it!

Oh Diana ! You never cease to amaze and delight me with the beautiful things that you create.
ReplyDeleteI went "Ooooh that's LOVELY" out loud when I saw this, Diana! How absolutely delightful and charming this piece is. I particularly love the tiny beads to represent the little spore heads you get on moss. So well observed. I wish I could put my hand through my computer screen and feel it because it looks so soft and tactile! I adore moss.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your lovely comment - yes, the silk clay feels amazing, doesn't it! I think it shrinks a bit as it dries, and the impression from my very shallow moulds is not as deep, but I am going to try colouring it with a wash and see if the colour sinks into the impressions, emphasising them a bit. They have curled up a bit, too, but that isn't much of a problem. I am generally very pleased with this stuff! Thanks for your good wishes, and yes, I am feeling a lot better now, thank you! It's great to be able to take advantage of it and get a few things done.
Happy WOYWW,

ReplyDeleteGorgeous! Who wouldn't want to keep their pins in a cuppa fairy magic? And, as usual, your photography is gorgeous...you should put your photos in a coffee table book. Love it. Hugs! Sandy Leigh #43

This is so beautiful Diana. I absolutely love moss and tea cups so this is completely up my street! This is such a gorgeous creation. That green velvet is so perfect, I love your little wired bead details and the muslin adds great texture too. Miniature creations are one of my favourite things and this one makes me want to have a gentle stroke! Elaine
