Sun Printing

Sun printing, and pale lemony green against a teal background.
Using foliage from the garden and scraps of lace, and a little hand embroidery.

I'm linking up with Julia over at WOYWW.

  5. I'm just fascinated by this work you're doing - I love the shot of the detail embroidery, you do just enough of it. And the larger pic of the dandelion detail - it's absolutely amazing, it's hard for me to get my head around the fact that it was done with sun printing - just so beautiful.

  9. These cyanotypes are just stunning, Diana - the new teal shade is amazing! I think I still like the Prussian blue the best, with its other-worldly feel, but I love the subtlty of the soft yellowy green with the teal. Amazing effect! Once I'm fully up and running again this is definitely a technique I am keen to try.

Thank you for your lovely comment - I do try to keep positive, and the creative brain rarely sleeps, does it, even when it doesn't get an outlet! The stuff for my neighbour is going to have to take a back seat because I got a commission today which hopefully I can fulfill - it's got a fairly short deadline. I'll keep posting about the various projects so "watch that space" for progress on the smock! I'm really pleased to have found the pattern and the fabric is great. I know what you mean about only remembering to cover up after it's too late!!

I think you should be able to print on silk paper. Try a bit on the edge to make sure it doesn't bleed, and maybe something to size it if it does? I am wondering whether it can be cut with a punch without jamming it...

I am definitely feeling a bit better today and hoping for better again tomorrow so I can get on with some things.

    Happy WOYWW,
