Eco Printing on Paper and Silk

My sister's neighbour very kindly let me take some of her Eucalyptus leaves for eco-printing and I am really pleased with the results .  I steamed two lots of papers, and added a bundle of rolled up silk to each pan.
One lot of silk and papers are darker and a soft brownish mauve - just perfect for my night garden theme...
...and the second lot of silk and papers are a more delicate yellowy gold with a soft pale lilac and beige - perhaps it was the Crocosmia in this bundle that made it more yellow.
I am linking up with Julia over at What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday - why not pop over and see what other people have on their desks this week!

  2. Wonderful Diana I had read some leaves work better than others. I've had disappointing results. Maybe because I didn't use the right leaves. I. Love your prints and will try again!

  8. Diana, again I am overwhelmed by the beauty of your work and the subtlety of the colours. Eco printing is another technique I'd love to try. It will probably be next year at the rate I am going, but I'll get there. Your silks and papers are so fabulous with all that gorgeous texture too, and the leaves are beautiful. Were the silk and papers white to start with, gaining their colour from the leaves and flowers? I've never done this before and am not quite sure how it works. It's amazing!

Thank you for another lovely comment - funnily enough, I don't feel in the least frustrated, despite feeling utterly pooped today again. One just has to go along with it and it will pass. Frustration is a very tiring activity in itself and doesn't help, so much better just to accept it and get on with it! I am resting, having fun on the computer etc., and next week when I feel better I've no doubt I'll be up to my creative tricks again lol! I am so glad you enjoyed the projects I made for Shaz, and especially the cards. I did have such fun making them for her and she's written me some lovely comments too!

  13. Oh Diana, I just unrolled three eco bundles of cotton fabric. Cotton is MUCH harder to work with than silk, and I have not yet made paper eco bundles. You have really inspired me. Thanks for the visit earlier and happy

  15. Wow - eco printing - how very cool! I don't even exactly understand what you've done but I absolutely love the results. That kind of ghostly image of the leaves is wonderful. And I can't even decide which color out of the two batches I like best.

And thanks so much for your lovely comment - I'm glad you like my attempts at jewelry-making!

Sorry this reply is so late, I've had visitors for three days!
