LOVING BLUE

I have just purchased this lovely little bowl from Etsy - it's beautifully handmade by Hodaka Hasebe, and it perfectly matches the little blue bowl I already have (bottom left picture in mosaic).
I am so in love with it at the moment that I had to celebrate it with photographs!

Also on the theme of blue, I have photographed the last of the forget-me-nots in my garden.  I don't think they are the wild ones as they are a more pastel shade of blue - they have given such a wonderful splash of spring colour I shall be sad to see them die back.

I am linking this to Mosaic Monday and Color Me Weekly.
I have also found a new place to play at Blue Monday, so I thought I'd link to that as well - as the name suggests it is all about capturing the colour blue and there are some great pics to go and look at!

  1. Oh Diana, what beautiful photographs! That bowl is just stunning... Not surprised you couldn't resist it! Love the way you've photographed it with the corals as it is so reminiscent of the sea (going to do an ocean-themed album one day!). Your little forget-me-nots are gorgeous too - I don't think I've ever seen such subtle pale ones before. I've seen various people doing the colour-palette thing - must investigate this further!

Thank you for your lovely encouraging comment on my latest album page. It was tremendous fun to do and I do like the rich result! As for finding out about things you've never heard of before, isn't that just the wonderful joy of blogging and sharing? Pinflair glue is a sort of gel glue that works best if you squeeze some from the tube into a syringe. It's very dimensional and crystal clear, and dries to a sort of hard rubbery-ness - great for decoupage or anything with dimension. Couldn't do without it in my ARTHaven! I've only just got the distressing tool - it's got little concealed blades between the "cogs" and you just rub your card between the cogs and it roughens it up, giving a great aged and distressed look.

Next project has to be a birthday card for my hubby - only 5 days away!!! Eeeeek!

    Hugs,
    Shoshi

  5. What a beautiful piece of ceramic Diana - those seablue colours are so appealing and it looks like it was beautifully crafted. I've got those forgetmenots in the garden aswell though I'm not sure if I've the wild type either.....mine are a bit on the wildside anyway and I dare not let them go to seed. Thanks for joining in again this week.
