On my desk this week you will find pages covered in cream emulsion drying (ready for card-making) - several cards made and ready to put in bags - my wonderful button box - an old jewellery box that now holds all my precious 'little bits' of collage stuff - more 'little bits' of collage stuff - my paint splattered specs - some very necessary mini chocolate Easter eggs - and under the desk two kitchen rolls to mop paint, dry brushes etc etc!
These are some lovely crafty bits I purchased at the the Needlework Fiesta at Brockenhurst the weekend before last - my friend Jane and I had a great day out there. I have only just unpacked them as it always involves quite a lot of shuffling things around and re-arranging boxes whenever I have new stuff to add!
I was so pleased to find some spiral bound square sketchbooks with good quality paper in them - most are rectangular, but I rather like working within a square frame. I bought some gummed silk, which looks quite textured, almost like bark, and some hand dyed velvet in moth colours!
If you are wondering why I am showing you my work desk it's because it's Wednesday and over at Julia's place (clickk the WOYWW badge on the right) you can visit all sorts of wonderful and interesting work areas - it's great if you are like me and enjoy a good nose around!
some great stuff here! 103

I must say, your haul from the Needlework Fiesta look fabulous - I want to reach out and touch everything! I don't think I've ever seen a square sketchbook before, much less with good paper in it...great find...
ReplyDeleteSo, I suspect this may be a stupid question, but what is emulsion?
Love the button box, seeing it all colour coordinated appeals to my organised side. Hugs, Amanda #104

What gorgeous new stash - you will have such fun using it all! I bought some of that silk at the last craft show I was at, but haven't used it yet. I love the dyed velvet - "moth colours" - how sweet! As for the mini-eggs, I adore these!!! Are you sure you really want them? Lol!

Hi Diana, me again. Just to let you know that after spending quite a long time browsing through your blog, I am so impressed that I have written a blog post about it. I think it is sad that so few people know about you and your beautiful work, and I hope we may direct a few more towards you! Thank you for enriching my evening, and giving me such inspiration!!!

Aw, my chum lived in Brock for a long time, it's a lovely part of the NF, huh! Great idea to use emulsion, you and texture are a grand team, huh. If my buttons were sorted like that, I wouldn't be able to use them for fear of spoiling the lovely presentation! Totally agree with Shoshi.
