MACAROON MADNESS

I'm often amazed at where inspiration comes from - sometimes the most unremarkable object can lead to an entire series of art works.  While at my favourite farm shop last week I was seduced by a little box of the most beautifully coloured macaroons - raspberry pinks, pistachio greens, creamy whites, chocolate browns and soft inky blues.
As far as a packet of biscuits goes they were grossly overpriced, tasted of nothing in particular and were too dry and crumbly BUT they were beautiful and I felt a photo coming on - or should I say several!

I am linking this to Color Me Weekly and Mosaic Monday (Little Red House).  Why not hit the links on the right and visit them for some wonderful inspiration.

  10. What gorgeous pictures. Leave it to you to think to photograph them... There's a bakery in Yountville (Napa Valley)called Bouchon (very famous and tiny = long lines, but worth it). They always have the top shelf full of gorgeous macaroons like that, at least a dozen of them in various colors - but these ones taste delicious. They're $3.50 each, something ridiculous like that, but it never ocurred to me to photograph them...

A blogging friend recently suggested that I drop the Word Verification and since you control what gets published, you still get Spam checks, it works so much easier without it

  15. Gorgeous... Very imaginative. Like you, I adore the colours. I especially like the "shattered" images through the cut glass - jewel-like! Beautiful photos. It's really good to look around us and find inspiration in ordinary things - so many people miss so much beauty through simply not opening their eyes!
